Rulebook

When a unit shoots, its champion must shoot at the same target, using their own characteristics.

Not all models within a unit are created equal. It is quite normal for warriors to march into battle under the leadership of a seasoned officer or brave champion, with banners flying proud in the mist-strewn air, the pounding of drums and bellow of horns driving the warriors onward. A unit's champion, standard bearer and musician are collectively referred to as the unit's 'command group'. Most units can include a command group of some kind, as detailed in the relevant army list. Most can include what is referred to as 'full command' – a champion, standard bearer and musician – whilst others will only be able to include perhaps one or two of these options. Command group models are always purchased as upgrades to normal rank and file models in a unit, as described in the relevant army list. Note that, for the purposes of any rule that refers to 'rank and file models', models belonging to a command group are considered to be rank and file models unless stated otherwise.
