Before playing a game of Battle March, the players should decide if they will include Random Happenings or not. If they wish to include them, they should choose one of the tables in the following sections: Disruptive Weather, Wilderness Terrain and Chaos of War. If the players cannot agree which table to use, simply roll a D3 and let fate decide.

Whilst it is recommended that players choose to use just one of the Random Happenings tables for the sake of simplicity, there is nothing to stop them using two, or even all three tables at once, adding further variety and chaos. Each of the Random Happenings tables is accompanied by guidance on when rolls should be made and by which player.

Matched Play: If you are organising a Warhammer: the Old World - Battle March matched play event, you may wish to include Random Happenings, possibly even switching between tables each round. This is encouraged but, for ease, which tables are in use should be decided beforehand.
