When armies march to war, no one is safe, for violence has a tendency to spread and infect others. When companies from Helmgart ventured into the Axe Bite Pass to battle the advancing Orcs and Goblins, they also saw evidence of Beastmen raiders, descended from the forested slopes to prey upon the innocent, obliging the warriors of the Empire to fight yet more battles.

Attacker & Defender
To best represent the events that unfolded in Axe Bite Pass, the attacker should field the Beasts of the Reikwald and the defender should field the Helmgart Wardens. Alternatively, the players may use a different example muster list, or they may write their own using armies of their choosing.
Set-up
Place terrain as described. In addition, place a cluster of up to four small buildings, each measuring no more than 6' at its widest point, similar to the cluster shown on the map below, within a perimeter of fences (low linear obstacles), representing the hamlet and its boundaries. The perimeter need not be contiguous; gaps can be left, representing gateways through which units can move freely. Finally, place two treasure troves, representing wandering livestock, as shown on the map.
Deployment
The defender deploys their entire army first, within their deployment zone, as shown on the map. Once complete, the attacker deploys their entire army within their deployment zone.

First Turn
In this scenario, the winner of a roll-off takes the first turn.
Game Length
The battle will last for five rounds, or until one side concedes.
Victory!
Once the battle has ended, use Victory Points to determine the winner. In addition, at the end of the game each player adds together the Unit Strength of each of their models that are completely within the boundary of the village, not counting fleeing models. The player with the highest Unit Strength within the boundary controls the village and wins a bonus of 50 Victory Points.
Scenario Special Rules
"Secure the Livestock!": In this scenario, the defender scores Victory Points for controlling the treasure troves. The attacker, by contrast, can only score Victory Points for destroying the treasure troves.
