Caravans of food and equipment are the lifeblood of a military campaign, and must be protected from attack as armies traverse hostile terrain. To represent this, baggage carts may be used as a secondary objective. If so, one or both players may add a baggage cart to their army for the duration of the game:
Attack the Baggage: If only one player has a baggage cart, they are the defender and their opponent is the attacker, tasked with destroying enemy supplies.
Guard Duty: If both players have a baggage cart, the caravan guards of two enemy armies have crossed paths with one another. Battle erupts, with the victor looting the enemy supplies.
Victory Points: If a baggage cart is alive on the battlefield at the end of the game, its controlling player wins a bonus of 25 Victory Points. Otherwise, their opponent wins a bonus of 25 Victory Points. In addition:
If a baggage cart is completely within the enemy's deployment zone at the end of the game, its controlling player wins a bonus of 25 Victory Points.
If a baggage cart manages to escape from the battlefield, its controlling player wins a bonus of 25 Victory Points.
