Though the vanguard of an army often hosts its best and strongest warriors, they are seldom the first to wet their blades when battle is met. Units of scouts and light cavalry engage in lightning fast skirmishes on the battle's edge, long before the lumbering formations of infantry edge towards one another.

Set-up
If the tables have been set up by the organiser, move straight to deployment. If the players are setting up the terrain, place and scatter terrain.
Deployment
Once the battlefield has been set up, the winner of a roll-off chooses their deployment zone (A or B), as shown on the map below. Once deployment zones have been chosen, the winner of this roll-off deploys the first unit. Players deploy their armies using the alternating units method.

Game Length
The recommended game end conditions for this scenario are Fixed Turn Limit, or Random Game Length.
