The chosen Champions of the Dark Gods are granted great boons and gifts by their daemonic patrons as reward for their victories on the battlefield. These gifts alter both mind and body, enhancing a Champion's strength and wit far beyond that of most warriors. As a Champion journeys along the Path to Glory and strings ever more victories together, they can swiftly amass a great many of these gifts from the gods.

A Dark Path
The Chaos Rewards table is a narrative way to craft your own unique Champion of Chaos, blessed with a myriad of gifts from the Ruinous Powers. Over the following pages, you will find profiles for Champions of Ruin which represent mortal Champions of Chaos on their path to glory, and Chieftains of Ruin, the bestial Champions of the Brayherds. Along with a host of options found within their profiles, they are also able to roll on the Chaos Rewards table; a plethora of gifts associated with their journey along the Path to Glory and their part in furthering the designs of the Ruinous Powers. Yet not all of these gifts are welcome, for the Chaos gods are fickle by nature and will punish a Champion as swiftly as they would grant them a boon.
The Chaos Rewards table and the two profiles presented on the following pages are designed with narrative and campaign play in mind, and are not intended for use in Matched Play due to their random nature. In narrative and campaign play, the results rolled on the Chaos Rewards table will help inform and develop your ongoing narrative, telling the story of your Champion's rise to power, or potential fall from favour. However, should an event organiser wish to allow these rules at their tournament, this is perfectly acceptable. In such cases, it should be clearly stated in the rules pack and all players made aware of when and where the rolls on the Chaos Rewards table should be conducted.
Amassing Power
To craft your own Champion of Chaos, first choose either the Champion of Ruin profile if you are fielding a Warriors of Chaos army (see page 36) or the Chieftain of Ruin profile if you are fielding a Beastman Brayherds army (see page 37). When writing your muster list, you may purchase any optional equipment, magic items or a mount for your chosen Champion as normal. You may always choose a Champion of Ruin or a Chieftain of Ruin to be your army's General, even if they do not have the highest Leadership amongst character models in your army.
Once your muster list has been created and shared with your opponent, you then roll on the Chaos Rewards table. Roll on the Chaos Rewards table three times for each Champion, plus any additional rolls purchased when creating your muster list, applying each result to your character in turn. Ensure that each roll is done in clear view of your opponent so that they can lament or celebrate each result, and be aware of any changes to your Champion for the coming game. Once all of the rolls are complete, your Champion is ready for battle.
Ill-Fated Gifts
The power granted to the followers of the Dark Gods is without measure should a Champion prove themselves to be devoted and victorious. Even as their bodies are overcome by ruin they continue to embrace the gifts and strength offered to them by the Ruinous Powers, for those drunk on power seldom see a reason to cease quaffing from the poisoned cup.

2D6 | Result |
2 | Curse of Ambition: Not all gifts bestowed by the Dark Gods are welcome, sometimes they simply serve as a reminder as to who is in control. This model becomes subject to the Stupidity special rule. If they already have this special rule, they suffer a -1 modifier to their Leadership (to a minimum of 2). |
3 | Flare of Anger: Whether this is the work of the gods or the Champion's own frustration manifest, their desire for slaughter is now barely kept in check. This model gains the Impetuous special rule. If they already have this special rule, apply a -1 modifier to their Leadership (to a minimum of 2) when testing to see if they are Impetuous. |
4 | Deadly Precision: With daemon-like reflexes and otherworldly awareness, this Champion can find even the smallest gap in their victims defences. During the Combat phase, the Armour Piercing characteristic of any weapon used by this model (but not its mount, should it have one) is improved by D3. If you have already rolled this result, re-roll the 2D6 and apply the new result instead. |
5 | Grisly Fortitude: Covered in thick scar tissue from countless battles, this Champion's will to survive has been seen and enhanced by their patron's gifts. Improve this model's Wounds characteristic by 1. |
6 | Dark Executioner: This Champion has proven to be a murderer without equal, simply battering aside their opponent's blade with sheer power. Improve this model's Weapon Skill characteristic by 1 (to a maximum of 10). |
7 | Daemonic Swiftness: Filled with unholy vigour, this Champion moves like a blur to those who lay eyes upon them. Improve this model's Initiative Characteristic by 1 (to a maximum of 10). |
8 | Unchecked Fury: The Champion's hatred has been kindled from a small ember into a roaring inferno of rage by the Ruinous Powers. This model gains the Hatred (all enemies) special rule. If you have already rolled this result, re-roll the 2D6 and apply the new result instead. |
9 | Iron Fortitude: Bestowed with iron-hard flesh or dragon-like scales, the Champion has proven to be near-impossible to fell. Improve this model's Toughness characteristic by 1 (to a maximum of 7). |
10 | Strength of Chaos: Fuelled by the power of Chaos, the strength possessed by some Champions of darkness can match even the greatest of monsters. Improve this model's Strength characteristic by 1 (to a maximum of 10). |
11 | Ruinous Blessings: Whilst this Champion can heal from even mortal wounds, each time they do, more of their humanity is surrendered to the darkness. This model gains the Regeneration (5+) special rule. If you have already rolled this result, instead improve its Regeneration value by 1. |
12 | Champion of the Gods: With each passing victory, the Champion becomes a living embodiment of the Dark Gods will. Improve this model's Attacks characteristic by D3 (to a maximum of 7) and its Leadership characteristics by 1 (to a maximum of 10). |
