War machines such as cannon and bolt throwers are powerful weapons on the field of battle, able to pulverise whole regiments, breach stone walls or even slay fearsome monsters with a single, well-placed shot. The most commonly seen types of war machine are dealt with as weapons in greater detail in their own section.
