Throughout the history of the World of Legend, historic allies have stood side by side against world-ending calamities, willing to sacrfice themselves to ensure the other can endure. Even old foes have been forced to put aside petty grudges and join forces to ensure their mutual survival against a larger threat. When it comes to narrative gameplay, dividing your forces between a number of players can be a fantastic way to both reflect the diverse nature of the battles of the Old World, as well as to involve your friends and members of your gaming group in your battles - especially in larger games or scenarios with allied forces.

Multi-player Games

Though the rules in Multi-player games will be mostly the same as they are when playing one-on-one, there are a few considerations. Below are the key changes from the standard rules for use in Multi-player games:

Army Composition

If a Scenario asks players to write multiple muster lists for the attacker and/or defender, the muster list containing the largest points allowance will be considered the primary force - any other forces on the same side are secondary forces. Equally, players are free to discuss amongst themselves as to which force should be considered the Primary Force if they feel one suits the narrative better than another.

If there is only one muster list being controlled by multiple players, simply divide the army up into roughly even portions to ensure each player has a number of different units to command for the battle.

Alliances

In Multi-player games, players should treat any force on the same side as them as if it were an Allied Contingent. When determining the type of alliance between the two contingents, most alliances will be Trusted allies. However, sometimes a scenario calls for an alliance to be treated as Uneasy or even Suspicious. In such cases, it will be detailed in the Scenario special rules,.

The King Is Dead

When scoring 'The King is Dead' in Multi-player games where there is a Primary and Secondary force, if the enemy General of the Primary force has been slain, has fled off the battlefield or is fleeing when the game ends, you win a bonus of 100 Victory Points. If the General of a Secondary Force is slain, has fled off the battlefield or is fleeing when the game ends, you win a bonus of 50 Victory Points.

Trophies Of War

When scoring 'Trophies of War' in Multi-player games where there is a Primary and Secondary force, you win a bonus of 50 Victory Points for every enemy standard claimed as a trophy. Additionally, if the enemy Battle Standard Bearer in the Primary force has been slain, has fled off the battlefield or is fleeing when the game ends, you win an additional bonus of 50 Victory Points. Lastly, if the enemy Battle Standard Bearer in the Secondary force has been slain, has fled off the battlefield or is fleeing when the game ends, you win an additional bonus of 25 Victory Points.
